The Midlands division of Johnson Group recently participated in a programme for Northamptonshire County Council to equip primary schools with kitchen facilities.

This was achieved by using a mix of existing facilities and a number of modular kitchen pods provided by a specialist manufacturer installed externally adjacent to the main school building.

This solution has proven very effective from a commercial perspective where the schools have not got the internal space to add kitchen facilities.

The installed pods are produced in three sizes and have the capacity to produce 70 to 150 hot meals per day. Most of this programme of works was completed during the summer holidays when pupils were absent.
